CB, Los Gatos
end of June, 2017. Joseph is a certified ultra-sonographer who carried out M-Mode and 2-D
cchocardiogram-Doppler studies, renal-duplex scans, Carotid-duplex scans, and peripheral
arterial and venous studies in my office. He also carried out Ankle-Brachial Index studies.
He provided his own cchocardiographic and peripheral vascular Doppler equipment, while I
carried out the interpretations of the studies.
I was impressed by Joseph’s reliability and willingness to make extra effort to provide these
services for my patients. On rare occasions, he went so far as to go the home or skilled nursing
facility to carry out the study, when the patient was immobile and unable to come to the office
for the study.
I was also extremely pleased by the quality of his work—paying attention to details, by checking
for presence and grade of LV diastolic dysfunction, and by labeling structures he was viewing to
make it easier for me to confirm his findings. He filled out a preliminary report that I would
modify or accept fully, if no changes were needed.
We worked in a collaborative manner, and Joseph was open to my suggestions for improving the
studies, if I needed additional data.
I would strongly recommend Joseph as being an outstanding ultra-sonographer for future work in
a doctor’s office.
I have closed my clinical cardiology office on June 30,2017 after 46 years in the same Medical
Center, and I will miss the collegial interactions with Joseph.
If any additional information is needed, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Yours truly,
Michael R. Nagel, M.D., MPA, FACC
